My Approach

My approach is grounded in the understanding that strength and struggle can exist at the same time. I understand the emotional labor of being the strong one, the successful one, or the one who always seems fine.

I work with couples, high-achieving adults, and LGBTQ+ clients who are moving through the gap between how things look externally and how they actually feel internally. Many of the clients I work with are people who are used to showing up for everyone else, but aren’t always sure where they get to fall apart.

Clients often tell me I’m down to earth, validating, and challenging in the best way. I’ll meet you with warmth and understanding, and I’ll also gently push when it feels important for your growth.

How I Work With Couples

I make room for you and your partner or partners to slow things down and really hear each other. We focus on understanding what’s underneath the patterns you keep getting stuck in, while also building new ways to communicate, connect, and support each other.

It can feel vulnerable to talk about intimacy, conflict, or unmet needs. A lot of people aren’t used to having those conversations in a way that feels safe. You don’t have to have the right words. We figure it out together.

How I Work With High Achievers and Perfectionists

A lot of my clients are the “go-to” person in their relationships, families, or careers, and they’re exhausted from carrying so much alone. Therapy with me is a place where you don’t have to perform, hold it all together, or be the emotionally responsible one for an hour. I help people slow down enough to hear what’s been buried underneath the constant doing, fixing, and pushing through.

Tools I Draw From

My work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps people move beyond survival mode and better understand the emotional patterns keeping them stuck. EFT also helps couples recognize the patterns they get pulled into during conflict and understand what each person is really longing for underneath the anger, frustration, or withdrawal.

I also use a trauma-informed approach that focuses on coping skills, nervous system regulation, and making sense of past experiences in a way that feels manageable.

My Background

My path toward becoming a therapist has been shaped by both academic training and personal experience with therapy. Having done meaningful therapeutic work myself, I value the courage it takes to seek support and the importance of a collaborative, compassionate therapeutic relationship.

With over a decade of experience in partial hospitalization, outpatient substance use treatment, and private practice, I’ve supported clients across a wide range of clinical needs and levels of care.
