Rates & Insurance
How much does therapy cost?
Our session rates vary depending on the therapist and range from $140-$175 for individual therapy and $165-$200 for couples therapy.
Do you accept insurance?
We are Out-of-Network with all insurance companies. We provide you with a monthly statement (called a Superbill) which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. We have found that many insurance plans will reimburse 40%-80% of the cost of Out-of-Network therapy after meeting your deductible.
What is a superbill?
A superbill is a document that contains information about the services you received during a therapy session, including the date of the service, the type of service, a diagnosis and the cost of the service. When you pay for a therapy session out-of-pocket, you can request a superbill from your therapist, which you can then submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
If your insurance provider covers out-of-network services, they may reimburse you for a portion of the cost of the therapy session. The amount of reimbursement can vary depending on your specific insurance plan and the type of service you received.
What should I ask my insurance provider about my superbill?
You can call the concierge number on the back of your insurance card and ask:
- Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient therapy?
- What is my out-of-network deductible? (your deductible is the amount you need to hit before your insurance company can start reimbursing for your sessions.)
- What percentage is covered for out-of-network therapy once I’ve hit my deductible? (Here is when they’ll provide you with a percentage like 60% or 80% depending on your coverage)
- My therapist’s CPT code is 90834, what will be reimbursed for my 45-minute psychotherapy session?
- Can you please instruct me on how to submit my claim for reimbursement?
- When should I expect my reimbursement for my sessions?
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept credit cards, cash, and HSA cards. You must upload a card on file in order to schedule your first appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less notice will be charged the full fee unless in an emergency.
Confidentiality
Is everything we discuss confidential?
Your sessions are private and confidential. The only exceptions are if you’re a danger to yourself or others, or if there’s concern about child or elder abuse. Before your first session, you’ll receive a confidentiality agreement to review and sign.
Is online therapy private and confidential?
Yes! We use secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms to protect your privacy. To ensure confidentiality on your end, we recommend choosing a quiet, private space for your sessions.
About Therapy
Do I have to be in crisis to start therapy?
No, you don’t have to be in crisis to start therapy. Many people seek therapy to work on personal growth, manage stress, or navigate life transitions. Therapy is a space for support, no matter where you are in your journey.
How do I choose the right therapist for me?
Finding the right therapist is about fit and comfort. Consider their specialty, approach, and experience with your specific concerns. It can also help to schedule a consultation to see if their style aligns with your needs.
How Does Online Therapy Work?
Online therapy allows you to connect with your therapist through secure, video-based platforms. Before your session, you’ll receive a link to join the meeting. During the session, you’ll talk just like you would in person, but from the comfort of your own space. All you need is a stable internet connection and a private, quiet spot for the session.
Is therapy right for me if I’ve tried it before and didn’t like it?
Yes, therapy can still be a good fit even if you’ve had a negative experience in the past. Different therapists have different styles, and it might take time to find someone whose approach works for you. If you’re open to trying again, we’re happy to help you explore what could make this experience better.
Can I switch therapists if I feel it’s not a good fit?
Absolutely. It’s important to feel comfortable with your therapist. If you don’t feel it’s a good match, let us know, and we can help you find someone who might be a better fit for your needs.
How long are therapy sessions, and how often do we meet?
Therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes long. Most clients start with weekly sessions, but the frequency can be adjusted based on your preferences, goals, and progress.
How long does it usually take to see results from therapy?
The timeline varies for everyone. Some people notice changes in a few sessions, while others may take longer depending on their goals and challenges. Therapy is a process, and consistency is key to seeing meaningful results.
What happens if I need to take a break from therapy?
If you need to take a break, let your therapist know so you can discuss the best way to pause your sessions. We’ll ensure you feel supported during your time away and can help you plan for when you’re ready to return.
